| Spiced Pears
12 pears about 1/2 cup of sugar 24 whole cloves water
Peel, core and quarter pears. Stick a whole clove in half of them. Put in pot, with just enough water to cover. Add sugar, stir and taste. If not sweet enough, add another 1/4 cup of sugar. Bring to a boil - simmer until almost transparent. Cool. Freezes well.
