2 tablespoons of butter 1 medium size onion, chopped 1/2 cup of celery, chopped 3/4 cup of water 1 cup of catsup 2 tablespoons of vinegar 2 tablespoons of lemon juice 2 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce 2 tablespoons of brown sugar 2 tablespoons of dry mustard 1 teaspoon of salt 1/4 teaspoon of pepper

Melt butter. Add onion and celery; cook until transparent. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 20 minutes. This recipe makes 2 1/4 cups or enough for 3 pounds spareribs, steaks or hamburgers.
