Score both sides of flank steak. Drop into a large Ziploc along with all other ingredients. Knead bag until well mixed. Allow steak to marinade for a minimum of 6 hours, best if left overnight in the refrigerator.
Grill steak for about 7 to 10 minutes per side. If using the marinade to baste, then quickly bring the liquid to a boil or microwave for about 2 minutes on HIGH.
Flank Steak Marinade 2
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup of soy sauce
3 tablespoons of lemon juice
3 tablespoons of water
2 tablespoons of oil
1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
Dash of ginger
Mix all ingredients together and pour over flank steak. Refrigerate while marinating at least 1/2 hour.
