Tomato Barbecue Sauce

two 8 ounce cans of tomato sauce
1/2 cup of chopped peeled onion
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
2 teaspoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of vinegar
1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon of Tabasco Sauce
Finely chopped onion for garnish

Combine tomato sauce with chopped onion, salt, pepper, sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire and Tabasco sauces in glass saucepan. Cover. Cook over low heat 30 minutes or until onion is tender and almost absorbed into sauce. Makes about 2 cups of sauce.

Use to baste pork chops, burgers, franks, steaks. Serve any extra sauce, warm, with chopped onion on top of sauce bowl, as accompaniment for barbecued meat.
