Flank Steak Marinated in Beer

1/2 cup of corn oil
1/2 cup of beer (I used Icehouse)
2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
2 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon of salt
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme leaves
1/8 teaspoon of pepper
1 1/2 - 2 pounds of flank steak

Mix together the corn oil, beer, lemon juice, garlic, salt, bay leaf, thyme and pepper. Trim the excess fat from flank steak; place in a shallow baking dish. Pour marinade over meat; cover and marinate in refrigerator at least 2 hours or overnight turning several times. Place steak on rack in broiler pan or grill; baste with marinade. Broil or grill 3 - 4 inches from heat 16- 20 minutes, turning once. Serves 6
