Beef & Bean Salad

1 pound of hamburger
1 can of tomatoes, drained
1 cup of shredded Velveeta cheese
2 heads of lettuce, shredded
11/2 cup of chopped green onions
1/2 teaspoon of hot sauce
1/2 of 15 ounce can of refried beans
6 ounces of corn chips
salt and pepper to taste


Cook the hamburger in a skillet until brown. Drain  and reserve fat. Place the hamburger in a salad bowl. Drain the tomatoes and reserve juice. Chop the tomatoes and add to hamburger. Add the cheese, lettuce and onions and toss lightly. Place the reserved fat, reserved juice, hot sauce and refried beans in a saucepan and heat through. Add to hamburger mixture and toss. Add corn chips and season with salt and pepper. Makes 12 servings
