Cabbage & Ham Casserole

Cabbage & Ham Casserole

water
2 teaspoons of instant minced onion
1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
8 small whole unpared new potatoes
1/2 small head of cabbage, cut into 4 inch sticks
1 pound of canned ham or corned beef
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) of butter or margarine
hot dog relish

Set electric skillet at 300ºF.  In the skillet, bring 3 cups of water to boiling, add onion and salt. Add potatoes, cook, covered for 25 minutes or until tender. Add another 1/2 cup of water during cooking if necessary. Add cabbage and carrot, cook 10 minutes longer. Place ham in center of skillet, dot vegetables with butter. Cover and cook 5 minutes longer. Serve right from skillet, along with relish. Makes 4 servings
