Polish Noodles & Cabbage

Polish Noodles & Cabbage

1/4 cup of butter or margarine
1/2 cup of chopped onion
4 cups of chopped or sliced cabbage
1 teaspoon of caraway seed
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/8 teaspoon of pepper
one 8 ounce package of egg noodles
1/2 cup of sour cream, optional

Melt the butter in a large skillet. Add onion, sauté until soft. Add the cabbage, sauté for 5 minutes or until crisp tender. Stir in caraway seed, salt and pepper. Meanwhile, cook the noodles in salted boiling water as directed on package. Drain well. Stir noodles into cabbage. Add sour cream, if desired. Cook for 5 minutes longer, stirring frequently. 6 - 8 servings
