| Apple Cranberry Compote
5 to 6 cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced 1 cup of fresh cranberries 1 cup of sugar 1/2 teaspoon of grated orange peel 1/2 cup of cranberry raspberry juice 1/4 cup of Port wine Sour Cream
Put apple slices and cranberries into a slow cooker. Sprinkle sugar over fruit. Add the orange peel, juice and wine. Stir to mix ingredients. Cover and cook on LOW 4 to 6 hours or until apples are tender. Serve warm fruits with the juices, topped with a dab of sour cream. Makes 5 or 6 servings |
