| Sardine Cheese Spread
two 3 1/4 ounce cans of skinless boneless sardines 1 cup of cream style cottage cheese 1 clove garlic, peeled and grated 2 tablespoons of grated onion 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1/4 teaspoon of celery seed 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce 6 drops of Tabasco sauce 2 tablespoons of lemon juice 1 tablespoon of cognac
Drain the sardines. Mash and flake with fork. Mix with remaining ingredients, blending thoroughly. Let stand at room temperature 30 minutes or so to blend flavors. Chill. Spread on hot buttered toast strips, on thin rounds of French bread, or on crackers. Makes about 2 1/4 cups
