Basic White Sauce

2 cups of milk
1 tablespoon of corn oil margarine
2 1/2 tablespoons of sifted flour
1/8 teaspoon of salt

Put the milk in a saucepan on low heat and bring to boiling point. In another saucepan, melt the margarine and add the flour, stirring constantly. Cook the flour and margarine for 3 minutes. DO NOT BROWN. Take the flour margarine mixture off the heat and add the simmering milk all at once, stirring occasionally. If you want a thicker sauce, cook it a little longer. Add the salt. Makes 1 1/2 cups
