Dill Sauce For Fish

2 cups of finely cut peeled onions
2 tablespoons of butter or margarine
1 tablespoon of flour
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup of finely diced dill pickle
1 teaspoon of finely cut fresh dill
2 tablespoons of finely cut parsley
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of pepper

Add 2 or 3 tablespoons of water to onions in saucepan. Simmer 6 or 7 minutes or until tender. Drain. Melt butter or margarine in another saucepan. Stir in flour smoothly. Add milk gradually, cooking and stirring until slightly thickened. Add onions and remaining ingredients. Stir and heat to boiling point. Makes about 2 1/2 cups of sauce.

Serve on baked stuffed whole fish, fish steaks, fried fish, fried oysters.
