Low Fat Fall Fruit Ketchup
6 medium tomatoes, chopped 2 cups of chopped onions 2 large tart apples, peeled and chopped 2 pears, peeled and chopped 1 cup of chopped celery 3/4 cup of apple cider vinegar 1/3 cup of package brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon of ground allspice 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves
In a Dutch oven combine the tomatoes, onions, apples, pears, celery, vinegar, brown sugar, allspice, cinnamon and cloves. Cook, stirring occasionally over medium heat for 1 hour or until thick. Let cool. Transfer to a blender or food processor. Process until smooth. Makes 7 cups |
