Plain Tomato Sauce
4 tablespoons of olive oil 2 medium onions, chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1/2 teaspoon of sugar a dash of black pepper one 29 ounce can of tomatoes one 6 ounce can of tomato paste
Heat oil in heavy saucepot; sauté onions and garlic in oil until onions are transparent. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until sauce thickens, about 40- 45 minutes. 4 cups of sauce

3 tablespoons of olive oil 3 cloves garlic, cut in half four 8 ounce can of tomato sauce one 6 ounce can of tomato paste
Heat oil in heavy saucepot. Brown garlic in oil; remove. Stir in tomato sauce and paste. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until sauce thickens, about 30 minutes. 4 cups of sauce |
