| Hot Buttered Rum
2 sticks of butter 1 pound of brown sugar 1 teaspoon of cinnamon 1 teaspoon of nutmeg 1 pint of vanilla ice cream, softened Light rum Whipped cream or topping Cinnamon stick, optional
Set ice cream to soften. Combine the softened butter, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Beat until light and fluffy. Spoon in ice cream and stir until well mixed. Place in freezer containers and freeze. At serving time thaw slightly. Place 2 - 3 tablespoons of butter mixture in mug. Add 1 jigger of rum, fill with boiling water and stir. Serve with cinnamon stick and dollop of whipped cream. Recipe can easily be cut for smaller quantities. Yield 10 - 12 cups
