Sausage Roll












Sausage Roll

4 cups of flour
1/4 cup of corn meal
1/4 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of salt
2/3 cup of vegetable oil
1/2 cup of milk
2 pounds of ground sausage meat



Combine the flour, meal, sugar, baking powder and salt. Sift together in large bowl. Stir in vegetable oil. Add milk and blend. Add a couple extra tablespoons of milk if necessary to form a stiff dough. Roll in a rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Spread on sausage and roll jelly roll fashion lengthwise. Wrap in waxed paper and chill or freeze. When ready to use slice and bake at 350ºF. for 15 - 20 minutes.
