A Breeze of a Pound Cake

3 sticks of butter or margarine
one 1 pound box of powdered sugar
Sugar box of sifted flour (approximately 3 cups)
6 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 teaspoon of lemon extract



Cream the margarine, add powdered sugar and beat until creamy, light and fluffy. Add eggs one a time, mixing well after each. Add sifted flour in several additions, mix just until blended each time. Add vanilla and lemon. Pour into greased and floured tube pan or 2 loaf pans. Bake in preheated oven to 325ºF. for 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 hours. Loaf pans for 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours or until pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan about 10 minutes, turn out on rack.
