| Pop Corn Balls
4 quarts of popped corn 1 cup of sugar 1 cup of light corn syrup 1/4 cup of water 1/4 teaspoon of salt 3 tablespoons of margarine 1 teaspoon of vanilla
Combine the sugar, syrup, water, salt and margarine in small sauce pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves and mixture boils. Continue cooking, without stirring, until it reaches 250ยบ on candy thermometer ( hard ball stage). Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour slowly over popped corn in large bowl and mix to coat all kernels. Work quickly and shape into 4 inch balls. (As you are working with part of corn you can keep remaining in oven at 200 to stay warm and pliable). Place square of waxed paper under each ball. Yield 7 - 8 balls
