| Christmas Cookie
2 sticks of butter 1 cup of powdered sugar 1 egg 1 teaspoon of vanilla 2 1/4 cups of flour 1 cup of chopped nuts 2 cups off candied cherry halves |

Cream the butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla and mix well. Gradually add flour and beat until well mixed. Add nuts and cherries. Chill dough about 1 hour. Roll into 2 or 3 rolls, wrap in waxed paper and chill for several hours. Slice and bake at 325ºF. for 12 - 15 minutes.
