| Congo Squares
2/3 cup of margarine 2 1/2 cups of brown sugar 3 eggs 2 3/4 cups of sifted flour 2 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1 cup of chopped pecans one 6 ounce package of chocolate morsels
Melt the margarine and add brown sugar. Stir until well blended. Cool slightly. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Combine flour, salt and baking powder, sift together. Add to egg mixture and mix well. Add nuts and chocolate and pour into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350ºF. for 45 - 50 minutes. When almost cool, cut into squares.
