Barbecued Leg of Lamb 1

Barbecued Leg of Lamb

2 tablespoons of butter
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup of tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon of Tabasco sauce
2 tablespoons of brown sugar or molasses
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of dry mustard
2 tablespoons of vinegar
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup of water
one 6 pound leg of lamb, boned

Combine all ingredients except lamb, heat to boiling. Simmer for 30 minutes. Baste lamb with sauce. Bake lamb at 350ºF. for 3 hours, basting with sauce every 30 minutes or place lamb on spit and cook over charcoal. Makes 14 servings
