| | Italian Baked Onions
6 medium onions, unpeeled 3/4 cup of salad oil 1/4 cup of lemon juice or vinegar 1/2 teaspoon of dry mustard 1/4 teaspoon of salt 1/8 teaspoon of black pepper 1 green pepper
Slice off tops and bottoms of onions; place onions in shallow baking pan. Bake in a preheated 350ºF. oven about 25 minutes. Cool slightly. Remove skins. Combine the remaining ingredients, blend well. Pour over onions. Chill. Blanch, peel and seed pepper. Cut into strips. Garnish onions with pepper strips before serving. 6 servings |
